M&A Advisor Awards is an annual gala that recognizes leading firms, deals, and professionals in the mergers and acquisitions industry. M&A Advisor, a U.S. mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, organizes the annual event.

The 16th M&A Advisor Gala occurred 13 November 2017 in New York. In attendance were leading M&A professionals and firms, all eager to witness winners in various categories. The M&A Advisor has multiple categories under which firms and professionals compete to emerge winners. Some of the classes include, ‘’Materials Deal of the Year,” “Information Technology Deal of the Year,” “Energy Deal of the Year,” etc.

Madison Street Capital, an American investment firm, was M&A Advisor’s choice for the “Debt Financing Deal of the Year.” Madison Street Capital (MSC) earned the award because of the firm’s advisory services to WLR Automotive Group, involving a $13.2 million sale/leaseback transaction.

While awarding MSC, the Co-CEO of M&A Advisor David Fergusson emphasized the firm’s commitment to recognizing leading M&A transactions, companies, and dealmakers, something that has been going on since 2002. He referred to the MSC’s award as “highest honor for M&A firms and professionals,” noting that MSC was emblematic of the best firms in the industry.

The M&A Advisor recognition came as a great honor to MSC, according to Madison Street Capital CEO Charles Botchway. Botchway acknowledged Berry Petersen, MSC senior managing director, for the successfully spearheading the WLR deal. He concluded by wishing WLR the very best in its future endeavors.

Madison Street Capital also performed well in other categories of M&A Advisor Awards. The firm was a finalist for “Boutique Investment Banking Firm of the Year” and Financials Deal of the Year (Under 250MM.)
